The unique Global City trade and logistics hub began operations in Karaganda in 2020.
The complex is located in the geographical center of Karaganda and covers an area of 80 hectares, being one of the largest in Kazakhstan.
The complex’s concept is a logically complete and fully integrated combination of warehousing, retail, and business infrastructure, tailored to all segments of business - from small to large.
This enables business actors from various sectors to effectively optimize their business processes and reduce their cost.
The trade infrastructure space includes the following facilities:
- Global City Shopping and Entertainment Center;
- Global City Trend Retail and Business Center;
- Farmer’s center;
- trading pavilions.
Warehouse infrastructure
The warehouse infrastructure of the GlobalCity complex includes:
- climatic warehouse with freezers and multi–temperature chambers ranging from 0 to –24℃;
- dry storage warehouses equipped with 5-tier racks;
- two cross-docks;
- multifunctional warehouse terminals used as fulfillment centers or warehouse stores;
- 7 railway siding;
- cargo terminal with gantry crane;
- customs control area with a temporary storage warehouse;
- three temporary storage facilities;
- all necessary handling equipment.
The Global City's warehouse infrastructure is in progress. In the coming years, an additional warehouse complex with a total area of up to 100,000 m² is planned to be built on an adjacent 25-hectare site. Plans also include the construction of cargo terminal no. 2 with a container yard and railway sidings.
